The Information and Communication Technology Market
How the ICT market is structured and where it is heading — market structure, IT services from outsourcing to cloud, the legal and economic framework, and the question of when money put into a company's information systems actually pays off.
I lead the lab classes on this course. The work is hands-on — case studies, data analysis and designing a database; alongside that, each student follows current developments on the ICT market and works on a semester paper, which they present and defend at the end.
The lectures map the market for information and communication technologies: its structure and development trends, IT services from outsourcing through hosting to cloud computing, the economic, legal and technological conditions of the market’s development including computer law, and the effectiveness of IS/IT — from service level agreements (SLA) and audits to the question of whether the money a company spends on information systems actually pays off.
An elective profile course in the master’s programme, winter semester. Taught in Slovak, with an English option for Erasmus students.
