Electronic Commerce

How commerce works on the internet — from business models and logistics through security and electronic payments to marketing. In the lab classes every student builds their own online shop and defends it as a semester project.

I lead the lab classes on this course. Their core is a semester project: over the semester each student builds the website of a real or fictional business with an electronic shopping system, documents the whole process, and defends the project in front of their study group at the end of the semester.

The lectures cover electronic commerce in its full breadth — business models, infrastructure and logistics, building e-commerce websites, security of electronic transactions, electronic payment systems including cryptocurrencies, B2C and B2B strategies, marketing, ethics and legislation, and AI tools for e-commerce. The semester also includes a guest lecture by a practitioner.

An elective course in the master’s programme, winter semester. Taught in Slovak.
